You are getting an error while trying to countersign an agreement. Here are a few reasons why this might happen, and how to resolve them.
1. You are not the assigned signer
When a contract is created, a signer is assigned (potentially as part of a workflow rule). The assigned signer is responsible for countersigning the agreement after the subcontractor signed it. If you do not see a sign button available in the top right corner when you open an agreement, you are probably not the assigned signer. You can verify who the assigned signer is by looking at the contract's details. Click on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the agreement OR the 3 dots to the right of the agreement on the "My Contracts" page. Then scroll down to "Signer".
Here you can see who was assigned as Signer. However, if the contract was already sent, it is too late to change the assigned Signer.
If the assigned signer is unable to countersign the agreement, a few other roles are able to do it on their behalf, see 2. below.
2. You do not have a role that allows signing agreements
If the assigned signer is unable to countersign the agreement, a few other roles are able to do it on their behalf. These are the following roles:
- Admin (this is the highest level of Constrafor Access)
- Contract Administrator
To check your role head to over to settings by click on the user icon in the top right corner, navigating to "Users & Roles" and reading the role next to your name.
Other roles that have "Full Access" to contracts in the roles and permissions table, such as Project Administrator and Legal can only sign agreements for which they are the assigned signer.
Project managers can also sign agreements to which they are the assigned signer on the projects to which they have been assigned.
3. You registered your profile without a first or a last name
If either your first or last name is not entered in your Constrafor profile, you won't be able to sign. Head over to your settings and edit your information.
4. The contract was sent without General Contractor signature tags
If when reviewing the agreement you do not see any field where the GC's signature is supposed to be inserted, then you will get an error when trying to sign. Contact support@constrafor.com
