How do I create a template?

Templates are one of the most common ways to build a contract on Constrafor.

First, navigate to the Contracts module and click the My Templates tab. Here is where you will find a list of all existing templates. To create a new one, click the New template button.

Provide a title for your template and select the category (ex. Subcontract Agreement, NDA, etc.). Then select how you'd like to start your template, either from scratch or upload a pre-made document from your computer. When finished, click Save.

  • Note: templates uploaded from your computer must be in a .docx format.

You will now be in the document editor where you can edit the template you uploaded. It is here that you will add signature tags. Signature tags are extremely important as they will be how you and your subcontractor will sign the document electronically inside the platform. You will find all of the variables for tags at the top of the page.

The variable tags will save you time when building contracts so you can send out a template to multiple subcontractors without having to write in each sub's information.

To place a variable, click on one of the menu options and then select the tag you'd like to use. Then click into the document where you'd like to place the tag and paste it into the document by using right + paste, command + v, or ctrl + v.

Templates save automatically so when you are done building your template, feel free to use the back button in the upper left corner of the screen.
