How do I create a contract?

Navigate to the Contract module and click the New contract button.

There are 4 ways to create a contract:

1. Upload for signature: Send a contract exclusively for a signature by the sub - no edits are allowed

2. Template: use a pre-made template by your team to build your contract

3. Upload finalized document: Upload a previously executed contract for storage purposes

4. Blank document: Build a contract entirely from scratch

The most common way to create a contract is by option 2 - using a template. Select template from the list and then select the template in the box that appears and click Next.

Next, provide details about the contract including the name, number, project, category, amount, counterpart, workflow rule (if applicable), and the final signer. Click Save when finished.

  • Note: One of the unique features of Constrafor is the ability to link your COI requests to a contract. This means that you have the option to require a COI prior to signature and also require an approved COI prior to signature. This can all be done at this stage.

Once you select a project, the checkbox will appear offering the option to Require a COI before signing. If you check that box, a second checkbox will appear offering the requirement to have that COI also be approved prior to final signature.

Both of these choices are optional. You can also mandate having that first box checked by navigating to the Settings tab inside the Contract module.

After you click Save, you will be taken to the document editor where you can look over the contract. If everything looks good, click Send in the upper right corner. You will be asked to confirm the subcontractor you are sending to. Click Confirm and send.

You will now see your contract in read-only view and in Sent status at the top.
